What we manufacture.

Four product categories. Steel cores, engineered timber framing, ballistic glazing, and certified hardware. All designed, fabricated, and finished at our British factory.

Fort Engineering manufactures security products across four categories. Steel is the security core in every one of them – cut, formed, welded, and finished in-house at our British factory.

The timber framing, glazing, hardware, and finishes around the steel get the same attention. We’ve been doing this since 2003. Every product carries certification to recognised UK security standards.

What follows on this page is what we make. The four customer brands further down are who you actually buy from.

Manufacturing process

How we manufacture.

01

Steel intake

British-sourced steel sheets and structural members arrive at the factory. Quality-checked on receipt.

02

Cutting + forming

Laser cutting and CNC bending to project specification. Tolerances measured in tenths of a millimetre.

03

Welding + assembly

Coded welders join components to certified standards. Frame, leaf, hardware fixings.

04

Finishing

Galvanising, powder coating, painting. Hardware fitted. Glazing units installed where applicable.

05

Testing + cert

Each product batch independently tested. Certificates issued. Then shipped to the customer brand.

Independently certified to UK security standards.

Manufactured to the standards specifiers actually require – not the ones we like the sound of.
