Integrity
The door contains the fire. No flames or hot gases pass through to the unexposed side for the rated duration. Every Fort firebreak product is integrity-rated.
LPS 1056.
Fire integrity, certified.
The LPCB standard for firebreak doors and shutters. Three Fort products are certified, with fire ratings from EI₂30 right up to EI₁120-C0. Tested to EN 1634-1, classified to EN 13501-2, audited and listed by LPCB on RedBook Live.
LPS 1056 certifies firebreak doors and shutters against the European fire-resistance standards. It tests how long a door assembly contains fire and limits heat transfer to the unexposed side. The rating you’ll see on a certificate (EI₂30, EI₁120-C0) follows the same notation used across UK and EU fire compartmentation.
Fort holds LPS 1056 against three products in a single certificate, 1607a. Each product gets its own sub-listing on RedBook Live, with a separate listing for each Fort Vault FB4 rating variant. Two of the three products also carry LPS 1175 forced-entry certification, which is what makes them useful where the fire compartment line and the security perimeter happen to be the same wall.

Reading the rating
What EI₁120-C0 actually means.
The fire rating on each Fort certificate is a compact string. Here’s how to read it, piece by piece, using EI₁120-C0 as the example.
I₁ / I₂
Insulation
The door also limits heat transfer. I₁ is the stricter test (peak temperature rise on any single point). I₂ is the average. I₁ ratings sit above I₂ on the same duration.
120
Minutes
Duration of the rated performance under EN 1634-1 furnace conditions. Fort holds 30 minutes at the entry level, up to 120 minutes on the Fort Vault FB4.
C0
Cycle class
Self-closing performance classification. C0 means the rating is valid without a specific self-closing cycle requirement on top.
So EI₁120-C0 reads as: integrity-rated, with stricter I₁ insulation, for 120 minutes, with C0 cycle classification. It’s the highest fire rating in the Fort range.

Triple-cert worth flagging. Fort Vault FB4 is the only product in the entire Fort range that holds three independent certifications: LPS 1175 SR4 forced-entry, LPS 1056 fire integrity up to EI₁120-C0, and FB4 ballistic resistance. Useful where the fire compartment line, the security perimeter, and the ballistic threat all sit on the same opening – data centre critical rooms, embassies, MOD List X.
